The
Franco-Arab movie week is organized every year by
the end of June, beginning of July. This event is the subject
of a partnership with the Shoman Foundation and
Amman City Council. The objective is to put in contact
the Middle East public with Arab cinematography
to which it does not usually have access.
Almost all the presented movies received French
financial aid (often through co-productions).
In addition,
the festival of the Franco-Arab movie gives the
opportunity to the Arab film directors and actors -
some of them living in France - to have a dialogue with
the Jordanian public. In 2004,
the festival of the Franco-Arab movie celebrated its tenth anniversary.
France
presents moreover every year a French film during
the European movie festival that traditionally takes
place in October. In total, about ten European countries
participate at this event.
